The speech was interrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk I doubt I can catch the flight we r enroute to the airport". Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant". These exchanges were published on this week alongside over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender. The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is redacted. The BBC managed to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the dates, events, and locations mentioned. For instance, Epstein discusses chartering a jet from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union two days later. Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment. 'I'll make sure you're well looked after' Bannon served as Trump's closest aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in 2017. He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he said: "We're going to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year." But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a personal assistant. A short time prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ". Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Excluded". Discussing a trip to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of." UK Politics Discussed in Messages The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year. Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Mogg." Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he continued: "They are trying to proceed. may today / tomorrow…" Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so others see the commitment of your follow-up." Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge". May was finally removed in May 2019 after surviving two votes of no confidence in December 2018. A representative for Reform UK informed media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting took place. The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the justice department should make public all its files related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year. Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was renewed this week after the release of over 20,000 documents from his archives. Some of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
