🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Share Anger Regarding Sizing Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. The popular resale platform has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Updates Earlier, the sizing featured one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Required Changes Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
